While most have reported not being able to login, some have also experienced complications with server connection. According to reports, Snapchat outage happened around 6 PM IST and continued for multiple hours before the company was able to restore normal functionality. For those users who are still facing issues with accessing the platform, Snapchat has also released an advisory guiding them on how to regain control of the app.
The outage was first reported by Downdetector.com, an independent online outage monitor, posted on Twitter saying, “User reports indicate Snapchat is having problems since 8:49 AM EDT”. While the issues began at around 6 PM India time, the issue was resolved only after midnight of July 13. It is also being reported that some users are still facing issues accessing the social media app.

While it is not known what caused the outage, Snapchat support Twitter handle confirmed that the issue was there and the company was working on a fix. The tweet read, “We’re aware of an issue preventing some Snapchatters from logging in. Hang tight, we are looking into it and working on a fix”.
This is not the first time Snapchat has faced a major outage like this. In February 2022, the social media platform reported a bug that caused the app to crash automatically after being opened. Snapchat support releases advisory for users to regain access to the app
Snapchat support advised the users to manually update the app by visiting the App Store on iOS and Play Store on Android. After updating the app, users must quit the app and reopen it. If the issue still persists, users can visit the website and go to the section “My Snapchats have disappeared”. Users have been requested to fill out a form on the page to receive assistance.
